Iris Fold Sunflower

Iris Fold Sunflower
Description

I made this birthday card with my Spellbinders Sunflower 2 die. I used my pentagon template for this card, but the hexagon template would also work.

I did the iris folding on this card a little bit differently than usual. I used glue instead of tape, making sure to apply the glue very close to the edges of the aperture opening. After I was finished, I cut around the flower leaving a narrow border (about 1/8 inch) and then used double-sided tape to attach it to the front of the card. I die-cut the leaf out of the same blue paper and airbrushed it with green ink. The stem is from my Coluzzle Flowers and Leaves template and is also air brushed. I cut the center of the flower from light orange paper using the Spellbinders template and air brushed it with brown. I used a stencil to air brush Happy Birthday in blue and brown on another piece of blue card stock and added it to the bottom of the page.
