Ghost Stamped Butterflies

Ghost Stamped Butterflies
Description

I made this card for the February 2012 technique challenge at PaperWishes. The technique, ghost stamping, is new to me. The butteflies on the pink and blue backgrounds were stamped on white card stock with white pigment ink. After heat-setting the ink, I colored the paper with distress ink. The pigment ink resisted the distress ink creating a ghost image. I really didn't think it would work until I tried it. You can also use chalk, but that didn't work as well for me.

I chalked the background for the purple butterfly diagonally with pink, lavendar, purple, blue and green chalk and then stamped and embossed the purple butterfly.

You can find instructions for ghost stamping technique over at Nancy's Creative Space
