String art or Spirelli involves wrapping colored thread around a notched shape to create a spirograph-like effect. It is fast and easy to do and looks terrific. I've used a variety of scalloped punches and cutting dies to make the foundation shapes. For the thread, I've used everything from fine metallic thread to embroidery floss to lightweight twine.
